This morning, as I was waiting for my Pre-K class, I was repairing the bulletin board immediately outside my room. One of my first graders passed by, and this was the conversation.
T: "Ms. Dudley, why do you have to keep fixing that?"
Me: "People touch it and they tear it down."
T: "A robot could do that for you."
Me: "You gonna build me one?"
T: "Um, no, actually. I can't."
Her confession that she couldn't build me a robot, despite the suggestion, was so confident and forthright that I had to laugh. She said it as if most people know how to build robots, but it's just not her forte.
I'm with her on that one :)
