Life According to Instagram, Week Fifteen.

Week Fifteen
April 8th - April 14th, 2013

1. Taught all day Monday with zero voice. Wore this sticker around to defer students' questions :(

2. My favorite B'more tag.

3. - 4. Called in sick and walked down to the CVS Minute Clinic in Harbor East on Tuesday. Felt perfectly fine, except for the complete loss of my voice. Entertained myself with shoe shots and sites as I took the long walk home after getting my prescription filled. One more day off required, at the advice of the doc.

5. Bedtime doodles: perfectly imperfect hearts.

6. Back to running after a two-week hiatus!

7. Cheery pink geraniums on my walk home from the gym.

8. - 12. Days off from work = scrapbooking. Project Life Week Fourteen in the books, in addition to some cards for upcoming weeks.

Life According to Instagram, Week Fourteen.

Week Fourteen
April 1st - April 7th, 2013

1. - 4. Project Life spread for Week Thirteen. My friend Amy, from One Artsy Mama, makes a cameo!

5. - 6. Tuesday was a professional day. Super-impressed with the kindergarteners' paint jobs on these pinch pots. Super-amused by this first grade fish saying, "Work it, girl." I love my job. It's amazing what you find when going through piles and piles of grading. Too bad I worked so hard on the prof day while feeling sub-par... didn't make it into work on Wednesday or Thursday. Nasty head cold wiped me out.

7. Throwback Thursday featuring many of my bro's bowl cuts. And a pretty sweet pic of him in middle school + me in high school.

8. Made it back to work on Friday, only to completely lose my voice. At least one of my kinders cheered me up with this giant painted face (18 x 24").

9. - 10. Retail therapy makes everything better, right? Finally splurged on Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb perfume after coveting it for years. And a Jonathan Adler sticker pad for good measure :)

11. - 13. SO proud of my man! He was honored at the Nineteenth Annual Awards Ceremony for UB Law students for his A+ in "Business Organizations." Not only was he honored, but many of his friends received awards, too! N. keeps talented company. My voice was completely lost by Sunday, so I enjoyed my amazing risotto at Joe Squared afterwards while listening to the wonderful conversation of loved ones around me & N.

Spring break never lasts long enough, does it?

Week Thirteen
March 25th - March 31st, 2013

1. These "love" graffiti tags are all over our neighborhood. What I didn't love was the rainy Monday weather.

2. Got a head start on wrapping presents for my future sis-in-law's baby shower. I will be showering my twin nephews with books!

3. - 4. Two runs.

5. - 7. World / Inferno Friendship Society with the bro at Ottobar. Wednesday night concerts for the win!

8. The only good thing about getting routine maintenance done on your car, complete with a two-hour wait? Thoroughly filling out your old-school Moleskine planner.

9. Thursday evening drinks at Brewer's with my beau.

10. Jonesie thinks that my t-strap makes a nice pillow.

11. Spring Break = guilt-free scrapbooking!

12. Twinsies! Eye doc appointment with Mom. Got to take advantage of daytime doc hours during Spring Break. Pack those appointments in when you can!

Life According to Instagram, Week Twelve.

Week Twelve
March 18th - March 24th, 2013

 1. - 5. Scenes from the classroom: scientific illustrations of brine shrimp (2nd grade), collaborative circles (4th grade), color collage (1st grade), castle scenes (2nd grade), ceramic fish bowls (3rd grade).

6. The labels I ordered for my nephews arrived! I've been buying children's books for months now, and I'm going to give them to my future sis-in-law at the shower in May. I bought these labels from Erin Condren to go inside each of the books.

7. I took this pic to admire my new mani, but was instead reminded of that amazing bling I'm so privileged to wear.

8. - 9. Running!

10. Hey Friday moon, I see you.

11. Perhaps the only (and best) reason to trek out to Frederick, MD is for the amazing food and beers at Brewer's Alley. I enjoyed a sampler... one beer, two beer, three beer, Ms. Kristen-Crayon hits the floor... they were all delicious. Met up with one of N.'s good law school buddies and her boyfriend. Good company and a happy belly.

12. Thrilled to have another wedding (besides our own) in our future! I love love.

13. Speaking of weddings... I found my wedding dress on Saturday! (This is NOT it, just FYI.) I had an incredible experience at Garnish Boutique (highly recommended if you're in the MD area-- amazing staff, adorable shop). Went with just my mama, as usual. This was the fifth attempt at finding a dress, and thank goodness, the last. There were tears. Huge weight lifted off of our shoulders! Had to break it to N. that despite what we anticipated, I WILL NOT be wearing a burlap sack down the aisle :)

14. Crate & Barrel plate that reminds me of my doodles. Apparently purchasing a wedding dress wasn't enough retail therapy for one day...

15. Playing with light, shadows, and wind in the Baltimore streets. So happy in the bright sunlight, post-bridal appointment.

16. - 19. Project Life makes me happy, too. Layouts for Weeks Eleven & Twelve.

Sometimes art makes us feel that way.

I love the honesty that this fourth grade student was willing to share on this questionnaire. I can totally relate to art making me feel "weird" (as it should sometimes) and details make me feel good, too :)
